I'll throw this out there now. Betsey Long is my favorite upcoming artist in the industry right now. I found her debut album just over a year ago, and was blown away by the quality of the album considering how unheard of she seemed to be at the time. I still listen to her debut album "Gemini" frequently now, well over a year after it's launch date, and that doesn't often happen with me!
I also need to point out that Betsey is quite literally one of the nicest people that I have ever met. Between helping me with college work and keeping me filled in with what she's been up to, she has also been kind enough to do an exclusive interview with us, so those of you unfamiliar with Betsey can get to know her a bit better. Believe me, you want to get to know her a bit better! So check out the interview above (apologies for lack of video, technology has failed me) and check out the rest of the article to hear what other people have got to say about one of the brightest upstarts in this crowded industry!
So, what do other people have to say about Betsey?
"Shes something special!"
- Michael Omartian (Producer)
"Betsey Long is an extremely talented singer/songwriter whose voice resembles a mix of Christina Aguilera, Adele, and Beyonce. It is truly a pleasure to work with such a gifted musician and singer."
- Jennifer Adan (Songwriter)
"A true pro!"
- Chuck Ainlay (Sound Stage Studios)
"The project came off without a hitch. We just built the production around Betsey's wonderfully unique and beautiful voice and her effective pop songwriting style."
- Brett Vargason (Zodlounge)
As you can see, I'm not her only fan. But, she definitely deserves a lot more attention, don't you think? In fact, that's a good point. You haven't heard the bliss that is her music yet, have you? Well, here you go then!
The above is the aforementioned "Pink" side of her debut album. These are the dancey, upbeat, make you want to go crazy tracks. Try listening to "Toy Box" and tell me you're not moving all over the place!
The above is the "Blue" side of her debut album. The softer, slower yet still awesome ballad style tracks. Check out "Wake Up Next To You" and tell me you aren't moved. Sara Bareilles better watch out!
Finally, the above is the recent unreleased EP, which is just absolute perfection in every way. Me & Betsey had a bit of a chat about this off camera, and she told me some interesting stories about the tracks. However, you don't need to know them, you just need to listen to "Sticky With The Wicked" & "Elvis Eyes", close your eyes, and be blown away. Her voice has developed since her first album, whilst still keeping the tone that I love, and that makes me very happy.
Betsey is currently working on a new project, which we are all eagerly anticipating. However, until then, you should buy her album "Gemini" from iTunes now! Betsey can also be found...

For one final time, I'd like to thank Betsey for taking the time do this. She is one of my favorite musicians, who also happens to be one of the nicest people I have ever met. So, she deserves your attention. You listening people? LET'S GET BETSEY FAMOUS!
