Sometimes you only need one line to describe an artist. In this case, for Betty Who - she is one of THE best popstars of this generation.
We fell in love with her back in 2014 when she released one of the catchiest songs ever - 'Somebody Loves You', and now she's back with album No.2 on the horizon. We had a chat with B about everything from her love of Joni Mitchell, to who she'd take with her on a desert island...
If you could sum up what it's like to listen to your music for the first time in three words, what would you use?
Umm... how about it's like a "sunshine dance injection"?
We first saw you in a very intimate Stealth Club (Nottingham) a few years back, and now you've played some HUGE venues. What kind of crowd do you before?
I don't prefer any type of venue I think, there's so many great things about performing in front of 20 people, likewise in front of 20,000. Although opening on the KP tour in Sydney was a very special sort of homecoming.
With a new album on the way, how does it feel that you're about to put another baby out to the world?
Omg I feel like I'm 14 months pregnant. GET THIS THING OUTTA ME ALREADY.
And how has your music changed between album 1 & 2?
You know I don't know if I'll be able to answer this question completely until the album is finished and pressed and sitting in my hands the day before it comes out. As you can imagine, I don't have a lot of perspective on the record so sometimes I think it's a complete departure from the first and others I think it might just be exactly the same. Maybe only time will tell.
The most recent single showcases your love for some of our finest divas - but who would you say is your biggest musical inspiration.
My biggest musical inspiration... Of all time? I don't know, I go through so many phases. Joni Mitchell was a big part of my teenage years and songwriting development. But today, right in this moment, I am so deeply inspired, in the truest sense of the word, by Lin Manuel Miranda. His vision and dedication and genius is so confronting, he has set the bar SO HIGH that it almost gives me direction. We do such different things, but I still look at the works of art he has created in his life and I feel reinvigorated. That, to me, is true inspiration.
What would you tell 16 year old Betty right now?
"Go out with that boy Danny in year 11. He's cute and likes you. Let him like you."
And if you found yourself lost on a desert island with only one musician to keep you company, who would it be?
Maybe Robert Glasper. As long as there was a piano he could play for me until the elements eventually take us out.
There's one half of 2016 left, what highlights has BW got in store?
Hopefully lots of good stuff! I'm dying to get music out. I can't wait to start sharing this chapter of my life.
Finally, if peeps wanna get more involved, where should they go?

We'd like to thank Betty for taking the time to answer these questions!
Eep! We've been massive fans of Betty for a while now, so it was an absolute pleasure to talk to her. And hearing about album No.2 has got us pretty excited!
