There seems to have been something of a breakthrough in alternative pop in the past few years. Plenty of acts have tried to shy away from commercial pop connotations. This can leave musicians making music which I & many other critics have identified as "bore-pop". Some do succeed in making enjoyable music however, AARON is one of them!
AARON is a very interesting lady, who had plenty of things to say in the few questions that I asked her. Let's see what she had to say!
Hey AARON, could you tell us a bit about who you are and what you do?
I'm a singer-songwriter from London and I've been locked down for the last year or so in the studio developing my sound and myself as an artist.
You'll find me playing live a lot at the moment and I am getting ready for a long summer of shows up and down the country, which is exciting!
How would you describe your sound?
I write classic pop songs with an alternative electronic sound, like Nu-Folk meets eighties R&B, with lyrical prowess and an honesty and emotion that wants to move you.
Who would you compare yourself to in the industry right now?
Artists who I admire and who inspire me to make better music are people like Blood Orange, Cat Power, Caribou, TV On The Radio, Metronomy and so on… Although I wouldn't necessarily compare myself to them.
So, what can people expect if they come down to one of your shows?
It's quite an intimate experience. I'm not a big talker, although I might drop a bad joke or two.
What can people expect from your next release?
I've got a mixtape due for release at the end of spring this year.
And what's your favourite song you have written
A track called 'Baby Blue'. As a writer there are times when you really do have to be self-indulgent and this song makes me a feel a little guilty for it, but in a good way. I surprised myself with my candour while writing this song. 'Baby Blue' will be one of the tracks included in the mixtape.
And finally where can your fans (or new fans) find you?
I'm on Twitter, Facebook and Soundcloud, and I have a website on which you can sign up to my mailing list to keep updated with gigs, releases and other news!

I'd like to thank AARON for taking the time to answer these questions!
Well, there you go! I thoroughly enjoyed this interview, and I hope you did too! AARON is rather an enigma, as she makes a type of pop that I'm not normally fond of. However, I simply love AARON's material.
She's definitely something different, and, hopefully different enough to succeed. I look forward to seeing her live! So, you guys should check out those links she just gave you above, and embrace the wonder that is AARON's music!
